Rory Jennings

Year 5 Teacher

Having graduated from Nottingham Trent with a BA in History, and subsequently a Primary PGCE from St Mary’s University, Rory has been teaching in the London for 4 years. During this time he has worked in both lower and upper Key Stage 2 while overseeing the Science curriculum across the school and guiding newly qualified staff in their first year in the profession. Rory has always sought to provide a holistic, focused approach to learning in his classroom and has always used CPD and research in order to ensure his children make as much progress as possible under his care.

Rory believes that children should gain an understanding of a wide variety of topics, cultures and people in order to understand their role in the wider world.  He always promotes the need for children to be able to work independently for their own personal goals, but also understand the need to be a part of the wider group in order to achieve to their maximum potential. Rory firmly believes that a child who feels a part of the class or wider group is a child who will become more confident, more empathetic, and more successful.

Family is very important to Rory and his has always been very supportive, which allowed him to follow the many interests and hobbies he has had over the years. Throughout Rory’s life, sport has always been a major passion and he has been lucky enough to represent some fantastic clubs including football for QPR until my teens and then for a semi-professional club in my adulthood. Keen to keep fit, Rory is looking investigating the city and it’s sporting opportunities.
