Kerem undertook his BA Hons degree in Primary Education at Bishop Grosseteste University where he achieved a First-Class Honours award and was presented with the Chancellor and University Council award for academic excellence. During this time, he developed a wide understanding of teaching philosophies, pedagogies and educational research while experiencing a varied range of educational settings including small village schools; large, inner-city, multicultural settings; and even an opportunity to undertake a teaching opportunity in the care home system of the Transylvania region of Romania.
After completing his degree, Kerem moved back to his home county of Norfolk in England to begin his career as a teacher. He continued to undertake further professional development and responsibilities which enabled him to successfully create and develop an effective and practical profile of Science as part of his subject co-ordinator role. He has relished the opportunity to extend his training, skillset and leadership further on his professional journey at NAIS Pudong by taking on the role of STEAM lead for the school.
In his own time, Kerem greatly enjoys a balance of playing football, reading and developing his ever-growing understanding and use of technology both inside and outside of the classroom. He is eager to develop his Mandarin and looks for opportunities to apply and integrate this into everyday use. He enjoys travelling during academic breaks and is keen to further explore parts of China and East Asia to experience the rich culture and history of these regions.
