An overview of our House system
It is important for students to have the opportunity to play an active role and contribute to a community within their school, which allows them to develop skills and talents and acknowledges their successes in a wide range of ways.
We encourage students to play an active role in the success of their house. Individual and team efforts are rewarded and students are expected to contribute to Interhouse competitions throughout the year.
The House system also offers a large number of leadership positions across the phases and these House Captains are encouraged to take ownership of their house by organising, publicising and leading particular events.
The houses are named as follows:
All students will be issued with a house badge to be worn with pride.
At the beginning of the academic year House Captains are chosen from each phase to represent their house. Candidates apply for the position, are interviewed and then chosen by the Head of their school. The job of the House Captains is to take responsibility for the leadership and organisation of their house throughout the forthcoming academic year. This year we have a total of 40 House Captains across the school, to ensure representation at all levels.
In every Inter-house Event, house points will be awarded as follows:
1st place – 100 House points
2nd place – 75 House points
3rd place – 50 House points
4th place – 25 House points
