We have a dedicated team of Primary teachers whose aim is to ensure your child develops a lifelong love of learning. Through engaging topics, a variety of teaching and learning styles, and a supportive environment in which students can be challenged in their thinking, there is no limit to what your child can achieve.
Our students follow the English National Curriculum (Key Stages 1 and 2) for English and Maths and adapted to an international context in all other subjects. This combination provides the essential rigour and challenge for the core subjects while recognising the diverse cultural backgrounds of our students and nurturing them to develop as global citizens.
As much as possible we deliver our teaching and learning through over-arching topics which include Science, Geography, History, Art and Design Technology subject areas. This enables our students to see how connections can be made across different subjects and help them apply their skills in new contexts and different areas of learning. Computing, PE, Music and Languages are all taught using standalone curricula by specialist teachers
As well as developing academic skills, knowledge and understanding, we recognise the importance of both personal and international learning which we ensure are also reflected throughout the curriculum and through our students' experiences both inside and outside the classroom. To that end, we ensure coverage of the eight Personal Learning Goals which underpin those qualities and learning dispositions we believe children will find essential in their future life:
We take every opportunity to extend your child’s learning beyond the classroom with informative field trips and guests to the school, as well as through our programme of Co-Curricular Activities. From Year 3, our students experience stays away from home, from camping on the school field for a night to flying to Shaolin to participate and experience our host country’s culture.
Throughout their time in Primary, our dedicated teaching staff will encourage and support your child to be academically, personally and socially ambitious.
