Therese Faerestrand

Pre-Nursery Teacher

2001 I took a Real Estate-degree, but I did not find this job interesting at that time. My passion was working with children. Took my bachelor-degree as a Pre-School-Teacher in Norway (2005-2008). Moved to Denmark and started working as a teacher in a kindergarten. After 7 years in Denmark we moved to Shanghai (2015) because of my husband work.

It has always been my passion to work with children. To see the children from they are little and see how they are growing their learning and confident, that makes me sure that I have chosen the right job. The feeling that you have achieved something with doing your best.

What makes me a strong classroom practitioner: I am creative, spontaneous and good to see every children different need.

It was a fantastic opportunity that I could come to BISS and work. After 2 years enjoying Shanghai, I needed to do something more in my daily life. And being teacher here at BISS was the best thing that could happen.

My name is Therese and I am from Norway. My husband is Danish and we have two boys together (7 and 9 years old). They are students here at BISS.

My passion is my family, my friends and my work. As long as they are happy, I am happy too. I am an easy person to get to known, and I think the parents and my colleagues finds it comfortable talking with me.

My inspiration and motivation comes from by two boys. Seeing them growing up these years and see what they have achieved, is fantastic. And this is what I want to do in my classroom. I want to be a good role-model for the children, and give them the opportunity to have an excited and fun learning in an environment that suits their individual needs.

My hobbies: I love playing tennis, doing walks with family and friends, travelling and just being a mum and wife.
