Since graduating from Trinity College, Marina has taught in many different schools in Dublin, preparing students for the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate Spanish exam. She was a State Oral Examiner for the Spanish Leaving Certificate Exam and has taught intensive oral preparation courses for Leaving Certificate students. Marina was Head of Spanish in her last school, helping to promote the language and grow the department making it the most popular Modern Foreign language chosen by students.
Marina is half Irish, half Spanish and lived in Spain when she was younger. She grew up in a bilingual household speaking English and Spanish from a young age. At school, she also studied Irish and French. Marina enjoys learning new languages and is looking forward to learning Chinese while in Shanghai. Marina enjoys playing tennis and started playing at the age of five. She has also helped to coach tennis in Dublin during the summer. While studying in Valencia, she took up a new hobby; flamenco dance. She also enjoys hiking and going to the cinema to see international films. Marina loves exploring different parts of the world and has visited Turkey, Mexico, the USA, many European cities on inter-railing trips, and Australia. She is keen to explore China and Asia.
