Carnival at BCB has become an annual tradition and is always full of colour and energy. Children are divided in their houses to learn actions and words from traditional Brazilian carnival songs. They practice a lot and have lots of fun doing so. This year pupils from year 6 had a whole topic (in music) to learn about samba drums and they participated in the parade playing to their own junk instruments. Everyone from primary and foundation stage also had the chance to create their own carnival masks to support their houses. The samba band Manda Chuva joined us and made the house performances even better. Parents and Secondary students also joined the parade to cheer for their houses. The judges had a hard decision to make and the winners were the.. VIKINGS!!
