EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Our extracurricular activities (ECA) programme has been designed to take learning outside the classroom. ECAs give students numerous ways to open their minds, try something new, or sharpen a skill set around a growing passion.

OUR ECA PROGRAMME

Our organised ECA sessions have been designed as enjoyable social opportunities for all, encouraging students to explore new areas and to complement their studies. Many ECAs also build students' teamwork and leadership.

Activities span sports sessions, drama, singing, debating, and more. They change every term, allowing students to choose a new one from great variety in our programme.

  • The ECA programme starts on the second week of each term.
  • ECAs are optional and take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 2:50 pm and 3:50 pm.
  • There are no ECAs on Fridays, when all students go home at 2:45 pm.

MUSICAL ACTIVITITIES

Our Music Department creates opportunities for students to further their musical interests and talents. Music is a powerful, unique form of communication that can change the way students think, feel, and act. It brings together intellect and feeling, and it enables personal expression, reflection, and emotional development. Students perform and compose music in different styles to increase their understanding of musical instruments, processes, and cultural influences.

We follow the National Curriculum to prepare students for Cambridge International Examinations. We guide students through integrated units that are both imaginative and challenging, motivating all students who receive one hour of musical instruction from the curriculum per week.

Students can also take part in ensembles which include:

  • Training orchestra
  • Senior orchestra
  • Chamber choir
  • Senior choir
  • Ensemble
  • Secondary school musical production
  • Students can also have individual instrumental lessons provided by specialist tutors on a rotational basis throughout the school week.

Performance opportunities include instrumental concerts, informal concerts in the foyer, major musical productions, recitals, EFC school events, and other community events.
