What an amazing week we had! Artistic interventions during breaks and lunchtime, giving opportunity for everyone to enjoy and appreciate different musical genres, ensemble and dance performances and visual arts works. We were able to see children interacting with these video and audio interventions by copying dance moves, singing along, and showing themselves completely amazed with people drawing and painting.
Our Juilliard specialists Jono (Drama) and Steve (Music) kindly offered an online workshop for parents, talking about what the collaboration with Juilliard means for BCB and also give us a taste of how a Music lesson with the Juilliard approach would look like. Parents were invited to take part and experience a bit of what our students can have in our Performing Arts curriculum. Special Music lessons have been happening outdoors or online, with Steve and Jono co-teaching with our Music teachers in some of them.
Even EYFS had an amazing week trying out all the arts, making their masterpieces for the exhibition, making puppets and creating stories. We also had some musical instruments inside their classrooms for the whole week, so they were able to explore. During Portuguese lessons, they learned about a Brazilian famous artist: Tarsila do Amaral, making their version of the painting called “Abaporu”.

And finally, today we finish our amazing week with a beautiful outdoors Visual Arts exhibition with contributions from all Primary year groups. A week of creativity, connection and self expression!
