Young Leaders Programme

Young Leaders Programme - Young Leaders Programme
Young Leaders Programme
The Young Leaders Programme is back! The second annual Young Leaders Conference is due to take place on Tuesday, October 3rd and is open to Year 7 - Year 13. This year, the areas of Leadership available to students are: MUN, STEAM, Languages, Sports, House, Debating, Theatre and PALs (Peer Assisted Learning.)

The Conference Day is a day off timetable for the successful applicants and is designed, through workshops, to teach the students all the skills they need to become outstanding, confident leaders in their chosen field. Following on from the Conference Day, students will then be qualified Young Leaders and will work alongside staff as Ambassadors in their leadership areas.

Last year, 120 students took part in the programme and since then, our Young Leaders have continued to lead in their chosen field and have really benefited from the initiative - helping other students and collaborating effectively.

The Programme was created to provide a platform where students could lead from the front here at BIS Abu Dhabi and create a legacy for future students. The power of cultivating great leaders and teaching the students the valuable skills required to be successful leaders was our motivation. Skills such as empathy, collaboration and moral courage, thus creating ‘changemakers.’

Students will have access to the promotional videos from Thursday, 21st September (via Teams KS3/KS4 & Year 13 and via Managebac for Year 12) to explore the areas of leadership available to them this year. They will be required to apply via the application form they will find there and write a short (max 100 word) synopsis of why they think they would make an excellent leader in their chosen field. The closing date for applications is Tuesday, 26th September. Students will then be selected and notified.

We cannot wait to continue with the Young Leaders Programme this year, and work with our incredible and inspiring Young Leaders.
