This is the “Meet the Teacher” series in which BIS Hanoi teachers share about their passion and commitment for teaching. Let’s meet our first teacher of the series: Ms. Holly Carmichael and explore her interesting story at BIS Hanoi as well as get to know her more as a person.

Out of over 1200 entries from over 25 countries, the essays of two BIS Hanoi recent graduates, Valerie Lua and Kieu Quoc Thai, have been shortlisted and published in the final book, which displays all of the winning pieces.

The children had a fantastic time preparing for their Christmas production through learning their lines, practicing their songs and learning the different actions.

This week saw three performances of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat by students from across the Secondary School, bringing together musicians, actors, technicians and managers to give life to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous musical.

We are constantly evolving this platform and this year we’re pleased to launch Nord Anglia University 2.0 worldwide.

Thursday, 3rd December, saw over 150 students from across the school perform in our Winter Concert. This event brought together students from Year 2 through to Year 13 to share their Performing Arts learning from both ECAs and the classroom. The Auditorium was full, the audience was excited and the students rose to the occasion: without exception each ensemble performed superbly.

At BIS Primary, we value the importance of assessing and reporting on children’s progress in all areas of their development throughout the year. Following on from our initial Parent Teacher Meetings earlier this term where we shared the assessment data and targets from our INCAS assessments, we are now in the final stages of preparing our end of term reports for parents.

On Tuesday 1 December, we welcomed friend of the school, Defence Attaché, Bea Walcott to the British International School Hanoi.

It has been a very busy term in the Art department with students working on various topics, projects and ECAs.

The swimming squads have been training each morning from the start of the academic year. Their hard work was showcased on Tuesday afternoon when the team entered the NAE Global Campus Sports Competition: Swimming.

On Tuesday morning this week, Year 8 students participated in a ‘Mindful Morning’ as part of their Life Skills curriculum.
