📢 Admissions Open for January 2025 - Schedule your visit today!
Dear Parents
I am sure you will agree that it was a wonderful Wednesday, when we were able to welcome students back BIS Hanoi for the new academic year.
We are ready for every eventuality in the 20/21 academic year. Jay Graham, Deputy Head of Secondary, has been working with all our staff to prepare them in providing the safest education for your children. We welcome your feedback but you can trust us to do everything necessary to ensure we follow the government and international guidelines.
We welcomed back our biggest ever sixth form cohort of students. They are an ambitious group and we look forward to seeing them mature into outstanding leaders of the student community. Our IB and IGCSE results continue to rise. The exam boards struggled with Covid-19 restrictions and they have had to make several changes to their usual processes. Most of our students have benefitted from these changes but we are still supporting a small number who were unfairly disadvantaged by the cancellation of the exams. Students from our Year 13 2020 cohort must contact the school if they need our help.
Our new caterers, Joma bakery, launched an exciting range of products. Their school dining service is based on a commitment to providing a healthy and balanced meal for all students. A healthy mind is inspired by a healthy body and both require the right nutrition. Joma’s menu promises to provide the right amount of brain and energy fuel to keep the children at their best all day long.
Over the years, student opportunity has been a defining feature of BIS Hanoi. This year will be no different. It is my pleasure to announce the secondary school production - Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat. You can see the launch video above.
We are all looking forward to the next year. I wish your children happiness, wonder and opportunity over the coming months. It is a privilege to be one of their teachers.
Tim Webb
Head of Secondary
We have had an action-packed agenda of inter-house activities, Christmas performances from Foundation Stage and Year 1, and today we had our Principal’s Award Assembly for the whole school.
I hope you have all had a good week and are beginning to get into the festive spirit ahead of the holiday season.
Thank you to all families who joined us to be entertained with our Secondary theatre production of A Little Shop of Horrors this week.
From Sunday onwards, we have had our CIS/WASC visiting team here at school. This has been a great opportunity to share all the wonderful things that we are providing for our students across all sections and to gain further insight and ideas to help us improve even further.
