Dear Parents,

STEAM education has a central place in the school curriculum at BIS Hanoi. With outstanding Science, Technology and Art facilities and the very best teachers, BIS Hanoi has everything required to inspire our students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths.

David Burke, our new design and technology teacher, has arrived to bring a new dimension to the students’ learning. David’s background in engineering and manufacturing has informed the way he teaches. When he left industry and began teaching in Scotland, he discovered that teaching children to understand how products are made, helped them to create new designs. He has been inspiring students to engage with product design ever since.

David traveled in Vietnam several years ago and he admired the way the people recycled machinery and parts in such inventive ways. In a world of diminishing resources, the art of reimagining uses for older materials is a wonderful example for our students to follow. David hopes to embed this way of thinking in the STEAM area.

Outstanding teachers and facilities combined with the guiding experience of MIT- a collaborating partner exclusive to Nord Anglia schools- is a powerful partnership of excellence. We look forward to seeing the amazing results that will inevitably follow.
