The FOBISIA MFL Championship What an amazing outcome for our students in Y5 to Y9 in the FOBISIA LANGUAGE Championship last week, which was run by Education Perfect.

What an amazing outcome for our students in Y5 to Y9 in the FOBISIA LANGUAGE Championship last week, which was run by Education Perfect.

Every day during the seven-day competition, our students came to check the leader board to see if we were still at the top. Since day one of the competition, BIS Hanoi held on to the title of first place for Spanish and fought other schools across Asia for the second and third place for French. We competed against schools that had up to 3 times more students than us, but our committed students tried their very best and we stayed in the top five for the entire week.

Our talented students earned over 260,000 points in total and placed in 1st position in the category of 251-500 students, 4th in the final FOBISIA results and 22nd globally out of 1894 schools. ¡Somos campeones! Nous sommes champions!

At BIS Hanoi, the MFL department believes that learning a second language helps our students become more articulate, literate, multicultural and global citizens. During this week, students of Spanish and French have practiced their language skills in a fun way and demonstrated a passion for language learning. They have developed their reading, listening, writing and speaking skills through levelled activities. They proved to be knowledgeable, open-minded and risk takers; their attitudes throughout the whole process made all teachers feel very proud of our community. We are most delighted with the achievements of every single one of them.

Our students have earned the amazing achievement of 115 awards. A special congratulations needs to be given to Nguyen Ngoc Linh and Kwun Taeyeon, both is 8S, who were incredibly committed and both placed in the top 10 of the competition. They both achieved the Elite award, which meant that they had done over 30 hours of language learning!

We are so proud of the effort and commitment that our students showed for MFL this week. Please join us in passing our biggest congratulations to our gifted students who have made great accomplishments in the last week. ¡Buen trabajo! Bon travail!
