The VEX Robotics competition is one of the world’s largest and most respected STEM championships for young learners. Each year, teams from around the world work to solve a challenging engineering task by building robots capable of completing complex missions under timed conditions. The competition evaluates mechanical design, programming ability, autonomous performance, teamwork, and communication. Only the top-performing teams in each region earn the opportunity to compete at the global stage.

Huy is a core member of Team SWITCH (15167A), where he takes on the roles of coder, builder, and designer. These responsibilities require a strong mix of technical skill and creativity, as students must design, build, and program a fully functioning competition robot. Throughout the season, Huy and his teammates demonstrated remarkable commitment as they refined their robot through countless trials, strategic adjustments, and collaborative discussions.
Huy’s journey this season took him through the Northern and Southern National Qualifiers, the VEX Asia Open, and finally the Vietnam National Championship. At every event, his team impressed judges with their thoughtful design process and strong technical performance in both driving and autonomous modes. Their proudest moment came at the Vietnam Championship when they received the highly respected Excellence Award. This recognition officially secured their qualification for the VEX Robotics World Championship, which will take place in St. Louis, Missouri, from April 21 to 30, 2026.

Huy still remembers the excitement of that moment:
“When we were selected for the Excellence Award, we exploded with joy. It meant everything to us because it guaranteed our ticket to VEX Worlds 2026.”
Reflecting on his experience, he shared how transformative the journey has been:
“Through these competitions, I learned how to solve problems more effectively, manage my time, and communicate better within a team. Taking part in VEX Robotics helped me grow more confident and more collaborative with both teammates and competitors.”
As he prepares to represent BIS Hanoi on the world stage in St. Louis in April, Huy continues to show dedication, curiosity, and an inspiring passion for engineering. We cannot wait to cheer him on at the VEX Robotics World Championship 2026.
