An exceptional set of results and university acceptances, especially considering our students spent half of their IBPD in lockdown conditions. A testament to the perseverance and solidarity of our strong community.

Our IB students continue to beat the world average in the 2022 IBDP examination We are proud to announce the outstanding achievement of our students in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for the 2021/22 academic school year.

We are proud to announce the outstanding achievement of our students in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for the 2021/22 academic school year.

This year, the average IB diploma score for BIS Hanoi’s Class of 2022 is 35 points, well above the global average of 32. For the fifth consecutive year, BIS Hanoi’s students have exceeded the global average, widening the gap with other IB schools around the world.

Over a quarter of this year’s cohort achieved 40 points and above. This is the level of attainment required to gain admission to world elite universities, including Ivy League and Oxbridge. Notably, this year, not one but two students from BIS Hanoi achieved a remarkable perfect score of 45 points in the IB exam.

In addition, 61 percent of the BIS Hanoi graduating students were awarded the special distinction of a bilingual diploma (BD). This means they demonstrated first language proficiency in two or more languages.

The above results are impressive, especially given that the BIS Hanoi's Class of 2022 spent most of their academic year in virtual school. BIS Hanoi students have shown great resilience, adaptability, and determination. They maintained high academic standards and raised the class average compared to pre-pandemic numbers. BIS Hanoi is thankful for the support they received from their parents, teachers, and peers.

This academic success marks the culmination of the two-year IBDP and highlights an important milestone for BIS Hanoi students as they take their first steps towards university life and college education.

With this year’s outstanding results, BIS Hanoi students continue attending top universities around the globe. The school’s Class of 2022 has secured offers from some of the world’s best universities worldwide, such as University of California, Berkley (US), University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) (US), King’s College London (UK), University of Toronto (Canada), University of Melbourne (Australia), University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong), and more.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, commonly referred to as the IBDP, is a two-year education programme for students aged 16-19. Recognised in more than 100 countries worldwide, the IB programme is one of the most highly regarded international curricula, well known for its breadth and academic rigour, which nurtures a global outlook and prepares students for success at university and in their working lives.
