BIS Hanoi students achieve impressive IGCSE results

Students at The British International School Hanoi, part of the Nord Anglia Education global school family, are overjoyed after receiving their IGCSE results. 

The students achieved outstanding results this year: 93 percent of their awarded grades were above C and 58 percent of grades were at A levels across all subjects. In addition, 18 percent of the student cohort received A grades on all their exams. Congratulations to Bao Anh, Thuc Anh, Kim Ngan, Hyerin and all other students on such an outstanding achievement.  

Remarkably, this year, one student from BIS Hanoi received all A* grades in his IGCSE examination. Huge congratulations to Kanta Fujimoto.  

Despite the uncertainty of switching between in person and virtual learning, BIS Hanoi students continued to demonstrate exceptional adaptability and resilience. Mr. Chris Newman, Head of Secondary at BIS Hanoi, expressed his delight with the excellent IGCSE results: 

Cambridge IGCSE, which stands for International General Certificate of Secondary Education, has become the world’s most popular international qualification for students aged 14-16-year-old as it is taken in over 140 countries and taught by over 4500 schools worldwide. BIS Hanoi has offered IGCSE to their students since 2014 and this is a natural continuation of the curriculum taught at the school.   

The IGCSE curriculum builds on the BIS Hanoi Secondary education covered in Years 7-9 (ages 11-14) and prepares students for the academic rigour of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Years 12 and 13. Our IGCSE offer provides a strong foundation of knowledge, skills and understanding to prepare our learners to thrive in the 21st century.    

The IGCSE curriculum at BIS Hanoi offers a broad, balanced curriculum that features a diverse selection of subjects including English, Maths, Science, ICT, History, Geography, Business Studies, Art & Design, Music, Drama and Physical Education. This broad selection of subjects can serve the academic interest of students as well as prepare them for the next step of their education journey.    

These results follow this year’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme results, where BIS Hanoi graduates beat the world average score of 32 with an average score of 35, outperforming other IB schools around the world.
