When You Arrive

Moving to Vietnam | BIS Hanoi - When You Arrive

Here is some practical information that you will find useful to adapt quickly to this busy and modern capital city.

Airport Pick-up

On arrival, you will be picked up by our Human Resources officers from school.

If for any reason, you arrive without an appointment to be picked up by the school, take a taxi from the official taxi rank outside the arrivals terminal.

Banks & ATMs

You are required to open a local bank account in Vietnam into which your salary will be paid. Most teachers choose Standard Chartered or HSBC. You will be provided with more information during the Induction Week and will have the opportunity to meet representatives of both banks.

Food Shopping

Hanoi has several supermarkets scattered around the city. Some of the names are: Big-C, Fivimart, Vinmart.

There are a couple of small grocery shops in Xuan Dieu street (Tay Ho district) which offer a variety of Western specialities.
