BIS U15 Team Makes Waves at FOBISIA Games in Thailand

After an early start and breakfast, the team headed out to the athletic track to show off what they had been practicing over the last two and a half months. There were some fantastic results all around, with 20 different medals won by the team. Standouts from these were Amber’s record-breaking gold in the high jump or Lightning McQueen's (Minh's) gold in the 100m. There was an excellent level of team spirit and perseverance as people stepped in for each other and really showed what it meant to be a lionheart. Van Phuc and Amber were MVPs in athletics. 

After lunch, the team was in the pool, warming up from an intense afternoon of swimming. The perseverance continued into the afternoon, and we were rewarded with 21 medals in swimming. Highlights were Samuel’s zigzagging freestyle and a Changwook PB in the IM. MVPs for swimming: Joshua and Tiffany. 

Day 2: Both the boys and the girls spent the day today on the basketball courts. 

The boys had a day full of ups, downs, and surprises. They really pulled together as a team to battle their way to the final. After a good performance against an extremely strong KDU team, they finished in second place and received their silver medals. 

The girls’ day was much less of a rollercoaster (until the final), winning all their games in the round robin and looking strong! The final was a game for all ages. The BIS girls won by a point, scoring with 15 seconds left on the clock. Gold for the girls! 

Day 3: A well-deserved celebration

On their last day, our Lionhearts gave it their all. The boys fought relentlessly, improving with every game, while our girls, starting slow, picked up the pace wonderfully, clinching a fantastic second place!

After the FOBISIA Trip, these incredible teams are ready to showcase their true worth in the upcoming HAC JV football season in Hanoi. But first, a well-deserved celebration! At the end of their trip, our champions savoured a delicious dinner in a beautiful outdoor setting, accompanied by the tunes of a live band. The camaraderie, the victories, and the memories—all celebrated under the stars!
