BIS Hanoi student anthology raises funds to support a meaningful cause

Over three vibrant days, BIS Hanoi students proudly set up their table at School Reception to sell the BIS Student Anthology, a heartfelt collection of poems and short stories that celebrates the many voices and cultural identities within our community. The book features more than 30 student-written pieces, each one shaped with the guidance of renowned author Nguyen Phan Que Mai.

The idea for the anthology grew from Dr. Que Mai’s visit to BIS Hanoi last academic year, where she led powerful workshops on storytelling and cultural heritage. During her sessions, she encouraged students to look inward, toward their families, their memories, and the experiences that define them. Many students left those workshops inspired, and their reflections became the foundation of this publication. The anthology captures everything from tender childhood moments to thoughtful explorations of belonging, making it a truly special read.

Throughout the three-day sale, students invited friends, teachers, and parents to stop by, browse, and support a meaningful cause. The response from the community was warm and enthusiastic. Every copy sold is contributing directly to a Blue Dragon Children Foundation, one of the school's community partners that supports vulnerable children and families in Vietnam. The initiative highlights not only student creativity but also their commitment to helping others.

Behind the scenes, the BIS Magazine Team and Mr. Hoare worked tirelessly to edit, design, and produce the final book, helping transform student ideas into a polished, professional anthology the entire school can be proud of.

With the festive season just around the corner, the BIS Student Anthology has become more than a book. It is a gift that celebrates creativity, compassion, and the stories that connect us all, and it is making a real difference beyond the school gates.
