Our chess team returned to the board for the tournament repechage round, taking on strong competition from across the Nord Anglia Education family. Among them, Duc Hung Dinh (Year 8) delivered a calm and confident performance, finishing 8th overall. His consistent play earned him enough points to qualify for the individual section of the Global Campus Final, an impressive achievement on a truly global stage.
The celebrations continued as Tuan Minh (Year 8) produced another standout performance, finishing in second place. His result means he is also expected to qualify for the Global Campus Individual Chess Final, adding to an already exciting week for BIS Hanoi chess.
With just 12 places available worldwide in the individual final, securing two of them is no small feat. It reflects not only the students’ skill and strategic thinking, but also their dedication, preparation, and willingness to challenge themselves.
We are incredibly proud of Duc Hung Dinh and Tuan Minh for representing BIS Hanoi with such determination and sportsmanship. Their achievements highlight the strength of our growing chess programme and the opportunities our students have to compete, connect, and succeed on a global level. We look forward to supporting them as they take their next moves at the Global Campus Final.
