More New Teachers.....
More New Teachers..... This week we meet two teachers, one who has joined us with her family from their previous posting in Cairo, Egypt and the second from the Isle of Wight in the UK. I am happy to report that both have settled in really well to AP1 and a wonderful addition to our teaching staff and BIS community.

 A Chat with Maria Shooter

Pick the first 3 words you think of when I say Vietnam

Sweaty, fascinating, frenetic ( see I’m using WOW words too!)

What are your first impressions of BIS?

Friendly, busy, happy

What new experience have you had since you arrived in Vietnam?

I did my motorcycle test at the weekend, bought a bike and rode through the city to get back home. White knuckles!

If you were writing a postcard to friends back home, what would it say?

Hey friends

I wish you were here to experience some of my new world;

Motor bikes, rain, pho, noodles, thunder, and lightning,  hot, steamy weather, street food, sweet iced coffee,  adventure, travel, temples and pagodas…

Come and visit and see it for yourself.

Love

Maria

 A Chat with Mr Greg

Pick the first 3 words you think of when I say Vietnam:

  • Food!

  • History

  • Scenery

What are your first impressions of BIS?

Friendly, buzzing, cultural mix, community, innovative

What new experiences have you had since you arrived in Vietnam?

Trying new cuisine; buying scooter and passing test; quick tour around Vietnam (including overnight sleeper train and on a boat in Halong Bay); kayaking

If you were writing a postcard to friends back home, what would it say?

Dear IOW friends,

Vietnam is proving to be everything I had hoped and more. A seismic shift in location, culture and diversity, this country has beautiful scenery to match ‘the island’ back home. If you are thinking of coming, stop thinking, start doing!
