All Things Animals club is a student-led club where we learn to understand and raise awareness for the current animal welfare issues in a fun and engaging way.
The club also gives opportunities for students to get involved both directly and indirectly with animal welfare issues, including the use of domestic animals as a trade of meat, as a medium for scientific experiments and animal tourism.
Events we have taken part of include the Christmas Bazaar in December where we raised more than 11,000,000 VND for the ARC (Animal Rescue Centre), a non-profit charity and a group of volunteers that rescue dogs and cats in need, provide medical care, give vaccinations and neuter all their pets, aiming to find a place for them to live on. ARC was able to use the money we raised at the event for medical care such as vaccinations, medical care for their rescued pets and for the purchase of food to feed the animals still in their care waiting to find a home.
Last term we were also able to pay a visit to the Animal Rescue Centre in the Saigon Pet Clinic, where we were able to actually visit the cats and dogs they have there. We had a great time and it really reminded us how important it is to raise awareness for all the stray animals on the streets of Saigon. We hope that in the future we will be able to shine more light on these important issues involving animals around the world.
