Following on from the success of last year’s FOBISIA Youth Choir of HCMC, this year we were lucky enough to have both an Orchestra and a Choir. Along with students from BIS HCMC, there were also students participating from BVIS and ABCIS in the concert entitled ‘Across the Universe’.
Our students performed beautifully and it was fantastic to see the collaboration between the different schools.
During Term 3, the students rehearsed the pieces separately at their own schools and on Friday we got together for the first time, spending the whole day rehearsing in preparation for the evening concert. Our students performed beautifully and it was fantastic to see the collaboration between the different schools. Some of the chosen music was quite challenging, from Gustav Holst’s ‘Mars’ performed by Orchestra, David Bowe’s ‘Mars Man Space Star’ performed by the Choir to John Rutter’s ‘For the Beauty of the Earth’ performed by both Orchestra and Choir. We are excited about seeing the FOBISIA Youth Choir and Orchestra of HCMC grow even further in the years to come. Next year’s concert is already being planned and will be hosted by BVIS in June 2019.

We are thrilled that four of our Year 13 students have recently gained offers from ‘Elite’ USA universities.
At BIS HCMC, leadership is more than just a title — it’s about inspiring others, fostering a sense of community, and embracing personal growth. This year’s Head Students, in Year 13, — Atom, JaeYeon, Tim, and Serena — embody these values with authenticity and dedication, each bringing their unique strengths, creativity, and passion to their roles.
We are thrilled to announce that a record three students from the BIS HCMC Class of 2025 have received offers from the University of Oxford, ranked number 3 in the world, and the University of Cambridge, ranked number 5 in the world. A huge congratulations to Quynh An, YeongSeo (Judy) and JaeYeon on their extraordinary achievement that sets a new benchmark for BIS students.
These achievements come as BIS students begin to secure outstanding offers from top universities around the world, including USA, UK, Australia and Asia and these numbers will only continue to rise as more decisions will be made over the coming weeks.
