On Monday 11th June we were delighted to share with the local community the hard work of 4 year 13 BIS HCMC artists who have recently completed their International Baccalaureate Visual Arts course.

Held at Soma Art Cafe in Thao Dien we exhibited the work of 4 students; Vivi Nguyen, Nguyet Vo, Chi Han Bui and Thanh Le. Over the course of their IBDP each artist has created a body of work which expresses who they are and what they think about the world around them.

The IB Diploma Programme Visual Arts course encourages our students to challenge their own creative and cultural expectations and boundaries. It is a thought-provoking course in which students develop analytical skills in problem-solving and divergent thinking, while working towards technical proficiency and confidence as artmakers.

It was a wonderful evening for our community, celebrating the final chapter for our Year 13 IBVA students. - Nicola Tingey, Art Teacher

Many local art enthusiasts, colleagues, friends and family came along to see the expressive and meaningful work and to listen to stories of our students' journey through the 2 year IBVA process.

Everyone was truly impressed with the quality of the work and the eloquence with which the students spoke about it. We could not have put this show together without the time and enthusiasm of Mr Adam Astley, the support of our fabulous maintenance team and the generosity of Linh at Soma Art Cafe for providing the space.

Thank you to everyone for supporting this exhibition and I’m sure you will join me in wishing these 4 artists the very best with the next phase of their education.
