The group of students will travel to Tanzania with two staff members, to participate in the annual service work trip.
During the first week, the students will join more than 100 additional students from other Nord Anglia Education schools around the world, volunteering at a local primary school.
In the second week of their trip, the students from BISB will continue on their own to a remote Maasai village near Lake Natron. Here, the group will continue the work our students started last year: to develop a sustainable farming site at a Maasai village school.
Since our trip last year, the site has served as a vital source of education for village residents to learn more about growing their own food, and has helped to supplement the food the government provides to feed the school's students.
This year, the students will be expanding the site significantly and working to develop a drip irrigation system for the original farming site.
Stay tuned for more details from their trip! The group departs Sunday, March 13. You can follow along with their journey on Twitter by following the school (@BISB_School) or the Tanaznia group itself (@BISBTanzania).
