Our talented drama club students are getting very excited as we start to prepare for our Spring performance of Shrek the Musical Jr!
In drama club, we have been spending time getting to know the characters and thinking about how we might be able to portray and communicate different emotions and specific character traits. The students have also been familiarizing themselves with the songs in preparation for the cast auditions which are now just a couple of weeks away. Audition packs were distributed this week and the enthusiasm and excitement from many of our budding actors and actresses is palpable!
In order to help our students further prepare for their auditions, we will be having a very special visit from our new Juilliard Curriculum Drama Specialist, Jennifer Shirley, in next week’s drama club session. Jen will be running a workshop for the students which will focus on audition skills, tips, and techniques in order to build confidence as we head towards audition time – what a fantastic opportunity!
The cast list will be announced prior to the half term break ready for rehearsals to start full steam ahead when we return. We then hope to see many of you at the shows which are due to be at the Royal George Theater at the end of February.
To all of our students auditioning, break a leg!
