Cookies from the Heart Students baked cookies for families at Ronald McDonald House.

Our students have one-of-a-kind opportunities for academic, social and personal learning beyond the traditional classroom environment. Community service projects – in Chicago and around the world – are just one way we help students make new discoveries and build on their knowledge.

Recently the school volunteered for the first time at Ronald McDonald House Chicago (RMHC).

RMHC provides a comfortable and caring home away from home for families with a child receiving treatment in the hospital. The facility provides remarkable resources for the families, including lunch, dinner and cookies prepared daily by volunteers.

We volunteered for the Cookies from the Heart program, whipping up eight dozen chewy chocolate chip cookies. Thanks to our food service provider, Quest Food Management Services, for donating all the ingredients!

It was a wonderful afternoon of community service, and we look forward to volunteering again soon.
