Ms. Cordery
Ella is a Drama and Theatre teacher with over ten years of experience working with young people in a wide range of contexts, London to Thailand and Chicago. She studied Drama & Theatre Studies at the University of Exeter in the UK, and throughout her career she has been lucky to take on leadership roles including Head of Year, Head of Drama, and now Director of Performing Arts and Juilliard Lead at BISC-SL. Ella has trained with and worked on projects with the National Theatre, UK, and The Royal Court Theatre, UK, experiences that shaped how she views theatre education. She believes passionately that the arts should be accessible to all — not just to create confident performers, but to support self-expression and empathy. She strongly aligns with Juilliard’s “success for all” philosophy and strive to create a drama classroom where creativity is encouraged, risk-taking is celebrated, and the performing arts become part of who students are, both in school and beyond.
