Gemma was raised in Invergordon, Scotland; she completed her degree in Sport Studies at the University of Stirling where she obtained a first-class honors degree. She then went on to complete her Postgraduate degree in Physical Education at the University of Strathclyde. She completed her first two years as a qualified teacher at Bell Baxter High School in Cupar, Fife before making the move to Chicago. Gemma played soccer throughout university and is a keen hiker and camper - she loves being in the mountains and has spent the last 7 summers working as an adventure leader at a summer camp in the state of Maine. Developing young peoples love of being physically active is a real passion of Gemma's!
