On Thursday 19 October, our parent community was able to experience a taste of what it is like to be a student at BISS with our Secondary Open Day. Each parent attended two lessons in their chosen Key Stage, each of which was an entirely normal class delivered to our students. It was a real pleasure to have such an impressive turn out and, judging by the results of our exit survey, those in attendance very much enjoyed the experience.
Events such as this give parents a snapshot of the great teaching and learning that takes place on a day-to-day basis in our Secondary School. They also help to build an understanding of the school’s approach and of the atmosphere within our classrooms. Students also enjoy the opportunity to learn alongside adults while our Prefects were able to assume responsibility for looking after our visitors.
We will be holding another Open Day on Monday 4 March, so those who were unable to attend on Thursday, will have an opportunity to participate then.
