Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival

Making moon cakes
Mid-Autumn Festival, Zhongqiu Jie (中秋节) in Chinese, is also called the Moon Festival or the Mooncake Festival. It is the second most important festival in China after Chinese New Year. The moon cakes, typically round, symbolizing the full moon, are presented as gifts to relatives and friends.

Our Year 6 children worked collaboratively to make mooncakes all by themselves in their Chinese lessons last week in anticipation of Mid-Autumn Festival. They used sticky rice flour to make the snow skin and red bean paste as fillings. Cutting into a self-made mooncake while having tea steeping as you admire the moon, we wish you and your family a happy Mid-Autumn Festival! Zhōng qiū kuài lè!
