What a fantastic start we’ve had to our ASA Sports Leagues this year! To make things even more exciting, we’ve revamped the leagues by introducing team names, logos, slogans, and descriptions - adding an extra layer of identity and pride for our students. And after Week 1, it’s safe to say the competition is already off to a thrilling start!
KS1 Football League
A blistering start for the Iron Eagles, Rhinos Raiders, and Riptide Sharks, who all picked up maximum points with two wins each. The Crimson Cheetahs will be hungry for revenge next week as they look to get their first points on the board.
BSB Bulldog Football League
Four powerhouse teams kicked off the season in style, with players showcasing their skills for Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Real Madrid. It’s Bayern Munich who lead the way after Week 1, with Cyprian Sasin topping both the league table and the goal-scoring charts.
Year 3 & 4 Handball League
The Turbo Toads set the pace early, led brilliantly by captain Savanah. They share top spot with Alex’s Bowser Blasters, thanks to a blistering debut from Daniel J, who netted five goals. The Mario Masters and Yoshi Yo-Yos will be determined to climb off the bottom next week and kick-start their season.
Year 5 & 6 Handball League
Three brand-new teams entered the BSB Handball World Cup, and the competition already looks fierce! Zack Major’s Newcastle Warriors started strong before tiring late in the day, while Cyprian Sasin’s Great Gods impressed with consistency throughout. The Madrid Oilers, captained by Keyan Joshi, bounced back after an opening loss and look set to be real challengers moving forward.
Dodgeball League
“Dodge, duck, dip, dive… and dodge!” - with those famous words, Mr. Sharie launched our Dodgeball League into action! Students enjoyed a high-energy introduction this week, and the first round of official matches kicks off next week. Expect fireworks!
Table Tennis League
The opening week saw players testing their skills in friendly matches as we assessed levels and groupings. From next week, students will be placed into their mini-leagues against opponents of similar ability - all building toward the exciting ASA Cup Finals at the end of the season.
It’s been a brilliant start, and we can’t wait to see the leagues continue to grow in excitement, competition, and sportsmanship over the coming weeks. Well done to all of our players!
