Our outdoor learning area has been full of excitement as the children enjoy the changing season. With the arrival of spring, they have been exploring the outdoors, noticing new leaves growing on the trees and colourful flowers beginning to bloom. The children have shown great curiosity as they observe these changes, asking questions and sharing what they see with their friends and teachers.
Spending time outdoors provides many wonderful opportunities for learning. As the children explore nature, they are developing their Understanding the World skills by noticing changes in the natural environment and learning about how plants grow. They are also building their Communication and Language skills as they talk about their discoveries and describe what they can see. Working together in the outdoor area encourages Personal, Social and Emotional Development, as children cooperate, share ideas, and take turns exploring different areas of the playground, amongst the trees, petals and leaves.
It has been lovely to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic about their outdoor learning, making the most of our vibrant space while developing their curiosity about the natural world, and their gross motor skills.
