Tadpole and Pre Nursery: A New Adventure Begins

The start of a new school year is always a special time, filled with excitement, curiosity, and perhaps a few butterflies, for children and parents alike. Our team is here to support each family every step of the way as our little ones begins this wonderful new chapter.

STARTING A NEW SCHOOL

For many children, starting Pre-Nursery or Tadpole class is their very first experience of school. We understand that this is a big step, and we work hard to create a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment where every child feels safe and valued. During the first few weeks, our focus is on helping children settle in, build trust with their teachers, and develop a sense of belonging. We take time to get to know each child individually, their likes, interests, and unique personalities, so that we can support them in the way that works best for them.

STARTING NEW CLASSES

Moving into a new class brings new routines, new faces, and new learning opportunities. In Pre Nursery, we gently introduce children to the structure of the school day while allowing plenty of time for free play, exploration, and rest. Our classrooms are designed to be engaging and child-friendly, with areas for reading, building, creative play, and quiet time.

We encourage children to explore their new classroom at their own pace. Over the coming weeks, they will become familiar with where things belong, learn simple routines, and begin to develop independence. These early experiences help build confidence and lay the foundation for a positive attitude towards learning.

RECONNECTING WITH FRIENDS

For children who have attended BSB Sanlitun before, this term is a lovely opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces. Seeing a friendly smile from a previous classmate can make all the difference during those first few days. We have planned activities that encourage children to interact, share, and play together, helping to rebuild those early friendships and create a sense of community within the class.

Making new friends is one of the most important parts of early childhood. Through play, children learn to take turns, share, listen, and express their feelings. In Pre-Nursery, we create many opportunities for children to work and play alongside each other. Whether they are building with blocks, sharing books, or exploring the sensory table, they are constantly developing the social skills that form the basis of lasting friendships. Over time, these small interactions grow into meaningful connections.

EXPLORING NEW ENVIRONMENTS

Our youngest learners thrive when they have the chance to explore new spaces. This term, we are excited to introduce the children to our wonderful outdoor playground and soft play area. These environments offer endless opportunities for physical development, imaginative play, and sensory exploration.

The playground allows children to run, climb, balance, and develop their gross motor skills while enjoying fresh air and sunshine. Soft play provides a safe, cushioned space where children can crawl, roll, jump, and build confidence in their movements.

Exploring new environments also helps children develop curiosity and resilience. They learn to try new things, overcome small challenges, and enjoy the thrill of discovery. Whether they are mastering the slide, navigating a tunnel, or simply watching the clouds, these moments are valuable learning experiences.
