BST students celebrated a year of sport with the annual sports day taking place on the week of 17th May.

The first set of students to participate were the Early Years classes of Pre-Nursery to Reception. On Sayram campus the students had an intense morning of relays with balancing, coordination, cooperation and lots of fun and smiles. Everyone was very tired in the afternoon, a little bit wet, but very happy!

Our next day saw Years 1 and 2 take an adventurous trek over to Kalandar from Sayram. Here they got to spend a morning competing as Houses in different relays, and lots of different sports stations. They also got to test how good the snacks are on Kalandar compared to Sayram.

Wednesday was our first venture to an off-site venue. The Primary Years 3 to 6 were transported to a large athletics stadium where they competed as Houses against each other. The day was hot, and the activities were tough, but each Year group tried their best to score as many points for their House as possible. For many, it was the first time they got to race on an athletics track. The day ended with a combined Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 House tug of war which was closely contested!

Thursday saw Years 7-13 participate. It was great to see so many students wanting to celebrate and compete for their House despite the distraction of exams and the weather becoming hotter and hotter. It was a long day, and the athletes certainly felt the strain of all their efforts the next day! A highlight was the relay event outside on the track along with the House football competition inside. With all sections of the school now having finished their events, the points were added up and added to the House Sports events that had taken place throughout the year. A mere 88 points separated 1st and 4th place, and only 4 points separated 1st and 2nd place! But for this year, the winners of the House Sports Cup are ….......VIKINGS!
