Navruz at BST

Primary school students celebrated the national holiday Nawruz, symbolizing the arrival of spring, with national dances, national games, poems and performances about the history of the holiday. Children have learned lots of new interesting facts about this holiday and enjoyed taking part in the assembly.

Secondary students from Years 7 to 10 celebrated the arrival of Spring with a special Nawruz assembly. Through videos and texts, they learned about the history and traditions of the festival, such as preparing the Sumalak. They also read poems in Russian, Uzbek and French, and played a lively team game. It was good to see so many students participate with such enthusiasm at this special time of year and then sample the Sumalak on Friday 18th March.
