In an exciting showcase of creativity and literary talent, Key Stage 3 students at BSY recently participated in the Myths and Legends Writing Competition on Global Campus. This engaging competition, which has been a focal point for our students since September, witnessed an impressive array of captivating stories.
Among the standout entries, we are thrilled to announce that Sandi, a talented Year 9 student, emerged as the winner with her enchanting piece titled "The Witch of Chin Tsong Palace." Sandi's narrative, rich in imagination and skillful storytelling, has earned her the coveted position as BSY's representative in the global competition.
Notably, Su Lai from Year 9 also deserves commendation for her outstanding work, securing a close runner-up position.
Sandi's winning entry will now advance to compete against submissions from Nord Anglia students worldwide. The stakes are high, as the overall winner will have the honor of seeing their story published on Global Campus, accompanied by professional illustrations.
The anticipation builds as we eagerly await the results, scheduled to be unveiled on April 29th. Stay tuned to witness the outcome of this international literary showdown and join us in celebrating the exceptional talent within our BSY community. Best of luck to Sandi and all our aspiring writers!
‘Music is a language the whole world speaks’ – An adapted quote from the famous 19th Century Poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow that still rings true today. Music has always had an influence in every culture across the globe and seems to be intrinsically and instinctively universal.
Last year marked an exciting chapter for the British School Yangon as we launched our first MIT challenges, designed to push the boundaries of learning by encouraging students to dive deep into hands-on, collaborative problem-solving. From Early Years to Year 10, students engaged in challenges that stimulated their curiosity, sharpened their critical thinking, and connected classroom knowledge to real-world applications. What started as an initiative has now become a defining feature of our curriculum.
We are excited to share a significant milestone in our journey: The British School Yangon (BSY) has officially received accreditation from the Council of British International Schools (COBIS). This prestigious recognition highlights our unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality education that aligns with British standards.
