Hello Minh Anh, can you tell us about the book ‘Woman in Science’ that you just translated?

‘Woman in Science’ is the second book I translated and has been published. The first book was ‘The Mistakes That Worked’ that was published in 2018. ‘Woman in Science’ is a very interesting book and I hope young children (especially young girls) will enjoy reading this book like I did.

Through translating works, what skills have you developed?

After translating the book, I had more knowledge about different fields, knew more about cultures, and different countries. Moreover, translating the book expanded my range of Vietnamese vocabulary and English grammar. An important skill that I learned throughout the translation process is the ability to use words fluently and make organization habits, have a good time schedule to maintain efficiency.

How did studying at BVIS Hanoi help you in improving your language ability to translate books?

I have been studied in BVIS Hanoi since Year 2 and the early access to the bilingual curriculum helped me fluent in and switch easily between Vietnamese and English. What I like most at BVIS Hanoi is that the school regularly organizes Vietnamese cultural activities and events to help me retain my Vietnamese identity.

What is your plan in the future?

My short goal in the near future is to complete the IGCSE programme at BVIS. Next, I will prepare my study abroad application.

Thank you very much for the interview!
