LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

BVIS HCMC is an international bilingual school, teaching in both English and Vietnamese. Prospective students must demonstrate a certain level of fluency in both languages to be able to communicate with their peers and integrate comfortably into their year group.

The school may be able to provide additional support in either language for students who initially need it at no extra cost. We can also support children with minor learning difficulties.

ENTRANCE ASSESSMENT

Our entrance exam takes place onsite by appointment, although it may be possible for the assessment to be taken remotely from another country.

We require a number of documents, including (where applicable) exam certificates, school reports, personal recommendations, and academic transcripts. Our Admissions team will be happy to advise. You and your child may also need to attend an interview, so we can assess how best to support both academically and emotionally.

If your child has minor learning difficulties, we will require additional relevant assessment documentation, as well as an interview with our learning support coordinator before we can offer your child a place.

OFFER OF A PLACE

You should receive written confirmation of an offer within 5 working days of your child’s assessment.

A student’s year placement is determined by the principal after consideration of their birthdate and their academic level, maturity, and language ability at the time of application.

We may consider early enrolment into a pre-Nursery class, but that may result in a second year in the same class before progression to Nursery.

If you would like to accept a placement offer at BVIS HCMC, we ask that you do so within 1 week of having received your formal offer letter.

Your child’s place will be guaranteed only once you have paid both the registration fee and security deposit. Note: late payment of either fee could result in your child’s place being offered to another candidate.
