IGCSE AND A LEVEL 2025-2026 RESULTS THAT OUTPERFORM THE AVERAGES IN ENGLAND

Year after year, BVIS HCMC students achieve examination results that significantly outperform England national averages, reflecting the strength of our British curriculum, outstanding teaching, and a culture that nurtures academic ambition.

In the 2025–2026 academic year, 57% of all IGCSE grades were awarded at A*–A, compared with the England national average of 22%. At A Level, 44.4% of grades achieved A*–A, significantly higher than the England average of 28.3%.

These exceptional outcomes are a testament to our students' commitment, our teachers' expertise, and a learning environment that challenges every learner to fulfil their potential.

OUTSTANDING LEARNER AWARDS FROM CAMBRIDGE AND PEARSON EDEXCEL 2025

Twelve Secondary students from the British Vietnamese International School (BVIS) Ho Chi Minh City have been awarded Outstanding Learner Awards by Cambridge and Pearson, based on their results in the international examinations for the 2024–2025 academic year. This impressive achievement continues to affirm BVIS’s exceptional educational quality within Vietnam’s international school system.

With 3 titles as ‘Top in the World’, 9 titles as ‘Top in Vietnam’, and 3 titles for 'High Achievements’, this year’s results reflect the high-quality international educational environment at BVIS. In our school we continuously challenge our student academically, while also developing holistically according to their interests, strengths, and personal passions through diverse experiences in sports, music, and leadership opportunities.

Nhat Minh, Class of 2026 Alumnus

Nhat Minh received multiple offers from highly regarded universities, including the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), University College London (UCL), the University of St Andrews, and the University of Leeds.

Ky Duyen, Class of 2026 Alumna

Ky Duyen earned offers to study Law at some of the world's leading universities, including the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), University College London (UCL), the University of Sydney, King's College London, and the University of Edinburgh.

Duyen shared: “I really enjoyed A Level as I got to explore my subjects of interest in much greater depth. Subjects such as Economics and History prompted me to develop strong critical analysis and the ability to deliver nuanced judgments. BVIS has not only helped me discover my strengths but has also constantly encouraged me to challenge myself and develop those strengths even further.”

Dang Tung secured offers to study Medicine at prestigious institutions including University College London (UCL), the University of Sydney, King's College London, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Bath, and VinUniversity.

Tung shared: “I believe the role that teachers played was to help me determine and solidify my interest in a specific field of study. I initially explored different areas within Medical Sciences but struggled to decide which path to pursue. Through discussions with my biology teachers about the realistic expectations of each career, I was able to better understand how my strengths align with each field. That was when I decided to pursue Medicine.”

Gia Hung secured offers to study Computer Science at top universities across North America, including Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), the University of Toronto, the University of Waterloo, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Virginia Tech, and the University of Minnesota.

Moon JiU, Class of 2026 Alumnus

Moon JiU earned offers to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester, the University of Bristol, and the University of Birmingham.

Moon JiU shared: “BVIS provided me with a positive learning environment that encouraged me to become more independent and motivated in my studies. Through academicand extra-curricular opportunities, I improved my problem-solving skills and confidence both inside and outside the classroom. YEAR 6 STUDENTS ACHIEVE OUTSTANDING ENGLISH AND MATHEMATICS RESULTS

BVIS HCMC students continue to excel long before they reach graduation. Results from the May 2026 GL Assessments demonstrate exceptional achievement among Year 6 students, with performance levels exceeding age-related expectations in the United Kingdom. These outcomes reflect the strong academic foundations developed throughout primary school and the confidence students gain through engaging, personalised learning experiences.

English

81% of Year 6 students met or exceeded UK age-related expectations in English.

Students achieved an average Age Standardised Score (SAS) of 104.5, exceeding the UK benchmark of 100.

Results also demonstrate strong and sustained progress, with average SAS scores increasing from approximately 101 to 104.5.

These outcomes highlight students' growing proficiency in reading, writing, communication, and language development.

Mathematics

98% of Year 6 students met or exceeded UK age-related expectations in Mathematics.

Students achieved an average Age Standardised Score (SAS) of 111, eleven points above the UK benchmark.

The results reflect exceptional mathematical understanding and advanced reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Together, these achievements provide a strong foundation for continued academic success throughout secondary school and beyond.
