A STIMULATING ENVIRONMENT BUILT FOR CONTINUAL GROWTH

At Country Day School, Costa Rica, our expansive, five-hectare, new campus in San Rafael de Alajuela comes to life with student activities, discussions, and movements within our highly connected environment. Between buildings, walkways, courtyards, and outdoor seating areas sculpted to trees and plants, the energy is buzzing.

Learning happens everywhere. Whether your child is conducting an experiment in the chemistry lab or observing the flora and fauna next to the classroom, every corner of our campus will stimulate their curiosity and inspire their love for learning.

LEADING IN SUSTAINABILITY

We're proud to take the lead as the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified school in Costa Rica, which is a green building certification program used worldwide to recognize sustainability or the efficient use of resources throughout our facilities. We’re also involved in Zero Waste initiatives, so we can strive to have no waste on campus, putting everything to good use.

Our actions include using dozens of solar panels for creating electricity, using less water, not using plastic, and actively striving to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

TECH-ENABLED LEARNING

INTEGRATED TECHNOLOGY ON CAMPUS

We use tech to further our research, skills, and overall learning experiences. In Elementary School, for example, students benefit from our 1:1 program, where each student in grades 1–3 receives an iPad and those in grades 4 and 5 receive a Chromebook to further their communication, research, and creativity. From 6th grade, students bring their own devices, becoming seamless in using these tools to boost their studies.

Our students also use interactive white boards, iPads, drones, spheros, and 3D printers, especially for STEAM projects. These modern technologies strengthen STEAM lessons by fostering lasting and adaptable skills across innovation, creativity, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving.
