Hello CDS Families!

This week was packed with activities and special events highlighting our school’s 60-year history. We have traveled down memory lane, thanks to Ms. Shirley Garro and other teacher volunteers, in the first ever CDS museum, we have brought back some of our all-star teachers who have retired to teach master classes, and we have celebrated with the students in an incredible all school assembly this morning. All these events were special, but my favorite was hearing from our students and staff about why CDS is a special place for them. Unequivocally, the responses pointed to our community; the people that make up our school and how everyone looks out for one another and cares for each other. This is what our students, teachers, and administrators cherish about our school. It was evident in grade 5 student, Justin Chi’s speech during our assembly and the central theme of our student body president, Luis Javier Chasí’s address to the school. CDS is a place that people call home.

I would like to thank Ms. Karen Visoná and Cassandra Rodríguez and their team for making this week happen and for organizing all the events and putting the team of teachers together to make this week special. Without the dedication and effort of so many people, these special events that make meaningful memories for our students would not be possible.

We wish you a wonderful weekend and Happy Birthday CDS!!

Best,
