Words from Primary - Words from Primary

This was a busy week, full of celebrations of learning. Students shared speeches offering advice to future generations, third grade made famous historical figures come to life in their Living Museum, prep joined the Secondary Environmental Club to create a mural outlining our recycling area, second grade brought their STEAM project to a close by creating 3D models showcasing the different ways in which animals help in seed dispersal, and all of Primary enjoyed an UCR choir performance. It has been amazing to walk around campus and see how much the students have grown and matured this year! Uniform Swap

Has your child outgrown their uniforms? Feel free to drop off old uniforms to either house office. Please place old uniforms in a bag and list your child’s name and any size uniforms that you’re looking for. We’ll do our best to send home the new sizes that you’re looking for. We will start collecting uniforms now and continue into the beginning of the school year.

Supplies for Next Year

As the end of the year approaches, we know that many families will take advantage of the summer break to gather materials for the upcoming year. Below is a list of what Primary students will require.

Spring 2023 Map Results for Students in Grades 1-8 Available In iSAMS On Tuesday, June 13

This spring, all students in grades 1-8 took the MAP Growth Assessment. Those results will be available in ISAMS for parent/guardian/student review on Tuesday, June 13. A few notes about what you will see:

  • MAP Growth is a growth assessment. It is intended to demonstrate how each student progresses in their learning in a variety of subject areas including, Reading, Math and Language Usage.  At CDS, we use student assessment data on the MAP Growth assessment to evaluate trends in student data, set learning goals, and to identify areas for acceleration or reteaching.
