Message from the Head of School - March 2022

Dear Champiteans,

When 100% of the 20 Swiss Maturity stream students obtain their diploma, one must savour the satisfaction of seeing these destinies fulfilled.

This is the first cohort of students in decades to have presented themselves in February, i.e. with six months less preparation than previous classes, who presented themselves in September. What did they gain? A "preparatory" programme for university, from March to June at the school. Then a relaxing summer before joining the faculty of their choice in September.

The Swiss Maturity is one of the most demanding diplomas in the Western world. It prepares students well for the requirements of the first year of university. These students have a strong general culture and a mental map that will enable them to better grasp the complexity of the world to come.

We note their excellent marks in the English language, one of the College's strengths.

The decision to bring forward the exams by 6 months was not an easy one. The results of previous years gave us confidence. The decision was taken with all the teachers, who, under the leadership of their excellent Dean Daniel Zumbrunnen, and the Academic Director Roland Lomenech, gave their best.

We would like to thank them and congratulate them. Thanks also to the parents who supported their children throughout these stressful weeks.
