New in Nyon for the academic year 2022-2023 This year at Champittet Nyon, we have added a new 8th grade class. New activities have also been added to our school programme. Champittet Nyon news

This year at Champittet Nyon, we have added a new 8th grade class and new activities have been incorporated into the school programme such as journalism, drama and philosophy.

  • Journalism: Writing a newspaper is a great challenge. But before embarking on this adventure, there are many challenges to be faced. Looking at what other schools are doing, learning how to write an article, practicing an interview, but also knowing what a journalist’s job actually is and what the associated ethics are. The students collectively chose the title and logo of their newspaper. The suspense is at its peak!

  • Philosophy: Philosophy with children... What a great programme and such ambition! There is no question here of a lecture with the study of difficult notions!

This introduction to philosophical dialogue will offer young students the opportunity to say what they think and to think what they say, notably through the development of thought.

Several themes will be imposed, others will be freely chosen. Either way, all subjects will be the object of questioning, conceptualisation, problematisation, formulation of hypotheses and argumentation.

Students will discover the art of questioning common and everyday opinions about notions and problems concerning the human condition.

  • Drama: Working closely with the renowned Julliard School in New York, we aim to introduce our students to the world of theatre and develop lifelong learning, social and interpersonal skills.

The world of theatre allows students to break down cultural barriers, overcome shyness, be creative while getting to know their peers.

We want to offer our students a creative way to develop their self-confidence, their awareness of themselves and the world around them, and to help them become confident, reliable and responsible members of the community.

What an exciting adventure!
