The first month of extracurricular activities is already in full swing! From joyous moves on the dance floor to the thrill of a tennis stroke and the creative world of crochet, our primary and secondary students are exploring, learning and having a blast.
Our extensive extracurricular programme is designed to inspire physical activity, nurture creativity and stimulate intellectual curiosity. With more than 40 extracurricular activities across our Nyon and Pully campuses, there is something for every student.
The warm weather of the past few weeks has been ideal for holding activities outdoors and making the most of our natural surroundings. Gardening, theatre and yoga are just some of the activities we have been enjoying outside, in the Forest School and by the lake. Of course, our lakeside location is also perfect for offering aquatic activities like standup paddle lessons.
This year, we are delighted to add some new activities to our diverse after-school programming. At Pully, we have introduced Aequaland Adventures, an activity that blends digital and physical games to help children develop their sense of global citizenship and responsibility for each other and the planet. For the first time, we are also offering a Russian workshop, where learners can discover Russian language and culture in a way that is adapted to their age group. Another new addition is the Champittet Choir, where participants can nurture their love of music while exploring singing technique and performing a varied repertoire. Theatre in English and zither lessons, to introduce the little ones to the joy of playing an instrument, are also in this year’s programme. Finally, students at Nyon now have the opportunity to take swimming lessons for different levels, with transportation organised by the school.
Sports, arts, languages, music – extracurricular activities are a fantastic way for young learners to build skills, make friends and find new passions. We wish all our students a wonderful year of exploration and discovery!
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” Here at Champittet, we know that inspiring children to dream big while envisioning their future is a core part of education. It’s also the focus of Dare All Trades Day, or JOM (Journée Oser tous les Métiers).
The Winter Ball is an eagerly awaited annual tradition here at Champittet, but this year brought a twist: the school’s first ever Masquerade Ball. With the theme “Black and Gold, don’t forget your mask!”, this year’s winter dance was organised by 14th-grade IB students, and the event was open to students in grades 9 and 10.
Who says summer is far away? Registration is now open for the Champittet Leadership Camp!
