Our primary students follow the IPC. In 2019, we were one of the first schools in the Middle East to be accredited for the quality of our provision.

Your child will explore the wonders of reading, writing and maths, as well as art, history, geography, music, sport, technology and science. Outstanding teachers make sure every student is supported and included, and bring learning to life through trips, collaborations and extra-curricular activities.

Years 1 and 2

Our children study Units of Work, which last three to six weeks. Going at their own pace, your child will explore exciting themes that span traditional subjects. This creative approach helps students to grow both academically and personally, and encourages them to see the world as an inspiring blend of experiences and cultures. Your child will also discover the joys of music, drama and PE, supported by specialist teachers.

Years 3 and 4

In Years 3 and 4, we encourage our children to become independent learners. Students develop their reading and comprehension skills, and collaborate on projects that inspire a love of new discoveries. They’ll also perform in class and school assemblies, building their confidence and public speaking skills.

Years 5 and 6

Our curriculum teaches students about local and global cultures, broadening their horizons. Working with students around the world on our Global Campus learning platform – and taking part in house challenges – your child will become an assured young leader.

All our primary year groups follow Ministry of Education programmes in Arabic, Islamic studies and Qatari history.

Our Key Stage 3 students follow the English National Curriculum. This provides the perfect blend of challenge and support, which helps our students successfully transition from primary to the IGCSE.

Your child will study English, maths, science, history, geography, ICT, music, citizenship, art and design, PE and languages. They’ll apply techniques learned in one subject to others and work closely with classmates and Nord Anglia students overseas.

In all our lessons, students are challenged to solve problems and explore ideas from different perspectives. We want them to be aware of ambiguity and complexity, to think creatively, and be open to new approaches and solutions.

Our teachers instil confidence in our students, which helps them work with others and take the lead. They also encourage each child to follow their passions. This prepares them for the challenges and choices of IGCSE, A-levels and the IBDP – as well as life after they graduate.

After successfully completing Key Stage 3, your child will study for their IGCSEs at either our Madinat Khalifa or Themaid campus.

Our upper secondary students study at our Madinat Khalifa and Themaid campuses, which are home to some of the best facilities for IGCSE learning in Qatar.

All our students take English and maths, as well as biology, chemistry and physics. Islamic studies and Arabic are compulsory for our Qatari students. Beyond this, your child will choose exactly what they want to do, following their strengths and interests. IGCSE subjects include business studies, economics, ICT, French, Spanish, geography, history, PE, music, art and psychology.

Our teachers will help your child make this important decision. We also have an IGCSE Options Guide, which contains detailed information about every subject we offer, as well as possible career pathways.

After two years of hard work, our students sit their exams at the end of Year 11. They then have the unique opportunity to choose between A-levels at Themaid or the IBDP at Madinat Khalifa.

This demanding but rewarding two-year programme sees our students excel in traditional subject areas and enjoy exceptional enrichment opportunities. It develops confidence and creativity, as well as broadening our students’ understanding of the world. Our IBDP is also respected by the world’s best universities.

Our IBDP students study six subject groups: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts. Three of these groups are taken at higher level and three at standard level.

Your child will also need to complete the core programme – Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity and Service – to achieve their full Diploma.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK): a course that explores critical thinking, giving students an understanding of how we learn.

The Extended Essay: an in-depth independent research project focusing on a specific subject.

Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS): a range of activities that develop our students’ creative skills and wellbeing, and support our local community.
