Compass International School Doha welcomed parents, students and friends to experience an authentic Arabian Night hosted at our Gharaffa Campus.  The scene was set for a journey through Arabian culture and the campus was transformed, a beautiful keema and Qatari flags were proudly displayed covering the campus in a sea of Qatari colours; the walls displayed images of His Highness the Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and beautiful rugs covering the floor. A magnificent cultural experience unfolded, as the air filled with smell of Bakor, Arabian sword dancers performed traditional dance. Verses of the Qu’ran echoed throughout the event as children gracefully recited passages. Students throughout the year groups had the opportunity to perform rehearsed pieces to a captivated audience. Crafts people demonstrated their magnificent skills in woodwork, the traditional art of basket weaving and henna painting as the smell of freshly cooked bread and hot Arabian dishes ensured queues began to form for a special evening meal. Beautiful Arabian dresses and outfits weaved through the crowds as Arabic dancing was performed and children got the opportunity to view from riding a pony around campus. It was a truly Arabian experience, which our children and families will remember for many years to follow.
