Dover Court student receives Yale Model United Nations award Congratulations to Lilly in Year 8 who received an award for her contribution at a Yale Model United Nations Conference in Beijing.

Lilly received an 'Honourable Mention' for her role as a delegate at her very first MUN conference. Lilly shares her experience with us...

YMUN was an amazing experience! It was run by Yale University and was held in Beijing. Each delegate had to represent a country and was assigned a committee based on the real United Nations Committees. My country was the Russian Federation and my committee was the United Nations Development Committee. I was the youngest delegate from overseas. It was scary at first but I met a lot of other students. In my first meeting I mainly just listened so I could get an idea of what was going on. Then when I understood a bit better I had a go at talking in front of my committee. By the third day I was able to share confidently in front of my committee. Overall I really enjoyed going and I recommend MUN to any Secondary School student who is interested in global issues!
